The story goes that Earth Day was conceived by Senator Gaylord Nelson after a trip he took to Santa Barbara right after that horrific oil spill off our coast in 1969. He was so outraged by what he saw that he went back to Washington and passed a bill desisting that April 22 was the day to celebrate the earth.
Senator Nelson stated that Earth Day, because he thought his committee had neither the time or resources to organize the 20 million people and the thousands of schools and local communities that participated, these things did happen. The Senator said, it organized itself.
The holiday became extremely popular in the United States. The first Earth Day was in 1970. More importantly, it brought 20 million Americans out into the spring sunshine for peaceful demonstrations in favor of environmental reform.
Many important laws were passed by the Congress in the wake of the 1970 Earth Day, including the Clean Air Act, laws to protect drinking water, wild lands and the ocean. The EPA was created within three years of the first Earth Day. In 1971 Senator Gaylord Nelson announced that Earth Day was going to be a yearly event.

"Don't be afraid to give your best to what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones tend to take care of themselves." -- Dale Carnegie
I look at this and know that every little step gets you up that mountain.
I wanted to learn HTML so I could build a site. That was way to much for me to take on. So I just put it off as a pipe dream. One day I ask someone for HTML help so I could clean up my sig line. HMMMM, that was easy! Now I wanted to bold it so I found out that was a breeze! Still not happy, I needed color & fancy font! The hardest part of that was picking which color & font I wanted. From there it went crazy! I wanted an image, no a banner, oh they must be hot linked, sized, placed left, right, center... Now, I see that web page becoming easier to make by the day!
So, if just keep moving foreward & you will get there!

You can learn new things at any time in your life
if you're willing to be a beginner. If you actually
learn to like being a beginner, the whole world
opens up to you. --Barbara Sher
I have found this to be soooo true. I do not like being the one that always says "What do I do?", "How does this work?", "Can you help me?"... But, if you find the right people, you will soon be on your way to helping others that have those same questions.
I run 2 virtual offices. I always invite people to come in & I can pull up web pages & talk to them in real time to answer questions. I often hear "I have never been in an office like that so, I don't think I can stop in". Well, if they never try it the 1st time then in 6 monthes they still have no clue how to do it & they are still trying to get help through email. Once I do get them in I then hear "This office is great I could use one of these for training (gift parties, helping customers pick products..). Then they are stopping in all the time to talk & brainstorm of what else they can try that will improve their business.
So my point is - Try it you might like it!!
Be a Beginner,
