Blog Co-Op at The Internet Marketers Guild

Why Be Part of the Brand New Internet Marketers Guild Blog Co-Op?

Blog Co-Op

The Internet Marketers Guild

I myself really enjoy finding great blog articles to read but, have a hard time finding just the right topic sometimes. I have joined many blog communities only to find that most have blog listings and not an actual description of any individual post. This means I spend a long time searching out blog descriptions, that seems as if they may have what I am looking for, and sometimes end up at a dead blog or one with way outdated info. To me that is a time waster!

If I am interested in learning about a particular subject, I will look for a blog post much sooner than a ‘news’ type of site. Bloggers are real people! News sites are.., well.., I will not get into that now.

I also like to comment on blog post to help build backlinks. To do this effectively, I need to find articles that are of interest to me and that I have enough knowledge about to give added information so, I am an asset to the original post. No, I do not leave comments like “Great Post Thanks”.

I am also getting into Social Bookmarking. To do a favor to anyone that watches my bookmarks I need to find good informative blog articles to pass along.

These are a few of the reasons the Blog Co-Op is laid out like it is.

1. We have different sections for each topic (Family, Web Site Building, Marketing Help, Natural Health…).

2. By requiring that members make a new thread, with a ‘mini post’, that tells a little about each of their articles, other members (and guest) will know if they are truly interested enough to visit. By narrowing it down, the blog author will get more targeted traffic and the visitor will save time by finding exactly what they are looking for.

3. This also gives the member a chance to post a page backlink to each article they write.

As the blog Co-Op grows we can help each others rankings by visiting, bookmarking, commenting, and sending friends to other people’s articles. The only way this can work is if everyone involved, not only post their article threads but, they must also visit others blogs. If all you want to do is post your stuff and expect everyone to help you but, you are not helping them – then this is not the place for you.

The blog co-op is to be a team effort! Trying to make it on your own is getting harder all the time. The ‘Big Names’ in blogging already know this. They have built themselves a group to comment, tweet, bookmark… We can do this also; we are getting organized to help each other build!!

You are not expected to go visit every post that is listed in the blog co-op area. We know that you have a particular interest in some things and no interest in others. I know nothing about the latest new fangled diaper bag and at this time do not really care to read every blog about them (I choose to ignore the fact that one day I maybe back in diapers myself). BUT, if I do come across a person that is having a baby I will know which section to send them to so they can read about them. ;)

The Internet Marketers Guild is a membership site. You can join for free but will have limitations on where you can post and will not allow you to read some upcoming sections. The paid membership allows you to run a sig line and post in all areas of the board. We went with the monthly fee to eliminate the people that just want to post ads and run. We want serious members to have a great place to post and share without all the ‘junk ads’.

To be a paid member cost less than buying a banner ad on another blog or site. At $9.95 a month you can post and meet other serious marketers. We also have 6 mo and yearly options that will give you a discount. This is less than many sites charge for just a banner on their site.

Remember this site is BRAND NEW! In fact this is the 1st post I have made even talking about the Blog Co-Op section. Yeah, it’s that new. Cait and I have been making threads in the Co-Op section so you can see what a mini post is like.

We have run many a free forum and know that forums are a great place to met people and learn but, the free boards had us spending hours a day deleting spam. I would much rather spend my time talking with you or visiting your blog than chasing down spammers! ;)

So, stop over and take a look around.

Look forward to Blog Building with You!!

Oh yeah, once you join be sure to fill in your Skype and Twitter names so other members can find you. These 2 things show up under your picture on every post you make but, can only be seen by other members.

Sounds like it might be an interesting idea, because I can see the strength in numbers thing. Honestly, though, I have to admit that I'm not crazy about the "paid" type of thing. I belong to a small group of folks who agree that we'll comment on each other's blogs as much as we can, and in our own way we've developed our own organic cooperative. Good luck with it all.

Hi Mitch.

There is a little more behind the small fee to be a full member of the Guild. We have spent a good amount of time and money getting to the point we are now and have a few other things we are working on developing now. The money will be reinvested into more value for the community.

The Blog Co-Op gives you allot more than meets the eye. There is a link maze and book marking strategy that no member will ever see or need to see. But by being a Guild member, we know that you are serious, and have access to things like this that others don't.

My feelings were to have a much higher price on the whole deal, because of the money and huge amount of time that it has taken, and will continue to take. But for now we will access at a low fee to see if we can't help out some less fortunate in these hard times.

If you actually took the time to do what we have implemented behind the scenes, the fee is like giving it away for free.

Working for you

I have a look and I admit it does look interesting. The thing for me is the time factor. I won't be joining until I have the time to do it proper justice. I am part of that 'organic cooperative' that Mitch spoke about, and at the moment, what with work, personal life and blogging I'm afraid I don't have the time to do this guild justice.

Hello Mitch,
Thanks for stopping in and taking the time to leave a comment!

I understand what you mean about the "paid" membership. We thought long and hard about it. I think what did it was seeing so many free forums and networking sites get closed because of all the people that just post ads all over the place and ruin the site for everyone. The other option is to spend hours deleting the misplaced ads, both of which is not how I enjoy spending my day. ;)

I think it is super great that you have found a group to work with. I know I do see allot of you guys visiting each others blogs. I enjoy following the comment trails from your blogs to find more interesting info.

Again, thank you and I will be stopping over to see you soon.

Hey Sire,
Thanks for coming by!!

As I said to Mitch, you guys are lucky you have found a great group to work with.
It is fun to see the 'banter' you guys get going in the comments area of your blogs. That shows you all are not just a group helping each other but, you are building a relationship with the others. That is the answer to success!

Work always seems to get in the way of fun. I think we should outlaw it!

I have tried a few groups and end up with people that want you to visit, bookmark, comment...but, never have time to go do anything for others. ARGH! There are also those that get mad when you will not comment or bookmark their post and they do not understand that I can't comment or bookmark a post that is just an advert or is crap. ;)

I will be back over to visit your blogs soon. I may need to take a few grammar classes first. ;)

Have a great day!

What an interesting concept, Sheryl. My time has been way too limited lately to commit to it yet, but I have some things stirring and will definitely keep this in mind. You are always up so something, my friend. I love blogging. It takes a huge commitment and consistency though. I make the commitment and then life happens and the consistency falls all to h - - -.
I will continue to follow it.

Hello again T,

We just started putting in some content at the Guild. We are off to a slow start but, will be adding more all the time. That is why we offered the free memberships is to help us get going and benefit the members posting at the same time.

Truth be told - I really wanted people to do the mini post in the Co-Op so, I could make it fast and easy to find places to comment. Yes, I am trying to make it easier on myself also. LOL!

Happy to see you and thanks again!

Judy!!!!

Long time no see! I take it you have been busy as always.
As for that life thing - wow, I know how that goes. I have gotten pretty good at deflecting the wrenches that try to get thrown in. I think I just need the Wonder Woman outfit and maybe I would do better. ;)

Blogging can be great fun (or a lesser form of work). I know that since I have been out commenting on others you can learn so much and build your reputation and links all in one. I am all for multi tasking if I can.

Be sure to stop over at the Internet Marketers Guild Board and look in the Blog Co-Op section. Cait and I have been putting our mini post in there and you can find direct links to helpful post.

I'm super glad you popped in! Will see you again soon!
