Purchasing pop ups in bulk, as a norm, is a useless way to get targeted traffic to your website. You've viewed the ads 100,000 hits for $100! You need to realize that these people are coming from some where. And where these people come from, is usually not going to be targeted to whatever it is you are promoting. Many come by way of a lotto, bingo, or some other free type of gaming website. The gaming website will ask the player to click a link before the player can play the game. The player clicks the link and see's your ad, clicks it off and goes onward to play the game. These people are not interested in your offer. They are only interested in playing the free game. If you've ever purchased pop up traffic, then you know what I am saying is true because you probably got 0 results.

The most effective way to utilize pop ups is to utilize them yourself! Create a website or website page, place some content on it, and place a pop up on it that will lead to your lead to your opt in page, the page that has a form on it so they can opt in for the info. That is real targeted pop-up traffic.

When people opt in to your autoresponder, you are getting real people in real time that really want the info you are offering. I will take five real opt in's any day over $1,000 worth of bulk pop up traffic.

Another thing to keep in mind is 'pop ups' are blocked by many internet service providers. They are also blocked by many virus protection software like Norton anti-virus, Zone Alarm, MacAfee. Don't bother using an average pop up script. Instead use a pop up software that isp's and various blockers won't detect. You've probably seen slide in ads, little note slide in's go across a web page...these are not detected by the isp's and pop up blockers. I personally don’t like them but some people have luck using them.
