Reviving Old Blog Articles

If you are like me, you have post on your blog that were written long before you had very many readers. Since then you have made new post, learned to deep link, and added new readers. Those old post may still be some of your favorites but, they have been pushed back and few people ever get to see them now.

I say ‘Live Again Old Post’!

Ok, that sounds crazy but, you can get them noticed again.
Go reread them and see if you need to update any of the info. You may even have other post you can inter link to them.
Now go write your mini post, grab that perma link and head over to the Blog Co-Op and post it.
Yes, bring new life to that old post.

You never know, that post may be just what someone else has been looking for. Well, put it out there so they can see it!

If you can avoid it, never delete an old post. Try to do an edit if the info has changed. If you need to you can write a whole new post and link them together so, you have the new and improved edition.

A new backlink to an old article can breathe life into it once again!

Now, go see what you have in the archives of your blog, that you feel the world deserves to see.

Well you mean an old post is not receiving organic traffic or is it not getting your readers traffic. Because I can see directing them back to a favorite will definitely bring back a post. Just make sure its a good one! : )

I'll have to check that out. I keep my older favorite posts in my featured posts area at the top of my blog, but a little extra attention wouldn't hurt. :)

Hello Brian P,
Thank you for stopping in.
You are right that it needs to be a good one.

Sometimes I have someone ask a question & know I already have a post about it so, I try to keep track and rewrite or link to it again.

When a blog gets 100's or 1000's of pages a new reader may not know what to even search for on their visit.

@Kikolani, Great to see you!
I see what you mean by featured post area. I had to go look at your blog again to 'get it'. That is great!

Some post are like people they need a second chance. I do have other post, that well, they just need to fade into the background. LOL!

No it doesn't sound crazy at all. in fact, I've done it a couple of times too - with greater success.

It's really a good idea to rejuvenate your old archives for a second chance but only do it when the current traffic is justifiable.

Great thought, Sheryl.

I've actually revived a few of my old posts, and the way I did it was to publish it on a different blog. I would always polish it up a bit and add more information. I may even, if the mood strikes me, play around with the keywords. It's always interesting to see what sort of reaction the revived post gets.

Hey Sire,
I have seen some of the old articles that were kinda dead become a big hit after a little polish.
Some blog post just never go out of style.

Hi Sheryl
I rejuvenate articles too - they get an overhaul and new links because I use page links now instead of product or category links. I really and truly doubt that we are alone, in fact I have spotted a few re-hashes in several of my daily blogs. There are new eyes out here every day.
Glad I am not alone.
