You always need to use keywords that are relevant to the content on your site. If you have a website about dogs, you'll want meta tags with keywords that match keywords on your index page about dogs. Let's say you are selling Doggie Dog Food. In your meta tag keywords you will place 'doggie dog food'...on your index page you will place a link to 'doggie dog food'...on your index page you will state the words 'doggie dog food' several times along with other relevant words such as “dog health,dog treats,dog toys,dog.

Longevity is also a key. The longer your website is online, more websites will link to yours. And linking to your website helps move your website higher in the search engines. Needless to say, more and more people will locate your website easier as time moves forward. You'll make more and more contacts with people. More and more people will visit your website.
