Happy Birthday Allison

Allison,
What would I have done without you?

I spent years trying to learn the Aussie ways.

Watched Crocodile Dundee who taught me to befriend the Aborigines, walk softly & carry a really big knife.

Steve Erwin prepared me to wrestle huge crocodiles, watch for big spiders, and that those snakes can jump when going after your crotch.

AC/DC had me put my ‘Balls to the Wall’ since I could not figure out how to do that, I just stopped listening to them.

After watching Kangaroo Jack – I know why you eat those furry critters that one irritated the piss out of me.

More recently I found the Wiggles. Now that has got to be one of the best ways to learn Aussie. Maybe if I was 5y/o, they would not give me the urge to poke sharp sticks in my eyes and ears.

This all left me with the idea that all Australians were a bit off.

Then I met you!

That of course just reinforced the thought of Aussies being odd.

One day when I am old and gray, I will be sitting on the porch in my rocking chair sewing merkins (for naked cats) and in need of a laugh. I’ll grab my Depends & waddle my way to the ol’ PC to take a stroll down memory lane with the Tweets we have exchanged.

You have tweeted & posted about Twitter bitching, bad customer service, shown us that we need the Urban Dictionary on a bookmark, brought Mankini’s & merkins into the mainstream market place, and gave me hope that I could fit in to Australian culture.
But, most of all you have shown me that Australians are just like me. They long to be loved! I can not think of a better way to give you a Happy Birthday than to send you a giant hug!

I hope you have a wonderful Birthday and enjoy the great new year of Allison!

XXOO,
Sheryl
