I thought there were other methods to find out the date of the page or when the page was updated?
Derived from Google cache or something like that?

For those people who haven't realised, the below code does not work.
javascript:alert(document.lastModified)

What the above code give you is the time and date the website was last refreshed and when something new was added to the website. In other words to know when the website was last updated you need to look at the bottom of the page if it is displayed.

Hey Brian,
It is kinda a pain to remember the code but, I have a document with all of that little stuff on it & have it labeled well. I just pop it open - even that is likely to be faster than your method. I would be lost. LOL!

I just get so mad when I think I have found an answer to my question & then realize the info on the page is years old & no longer applies!

With all of the sites you have - you need to save as much time as possible. ;)
Wow, that has to be one of the coolest secrets around. I have never seen that before. If I needed to check something like that before I would have clicked the 'Age' button (Wayback Machine) on the seoquake Firefox plugin. Then I would need to compare old and new pages. That's a lot of work when I can be looking at an actual update time is seconds using your tip. Thanks for sharing.
