b2evolution Snap Post Comment Plug In

The b2evolution Blogs just got a new plug in!

Ask and you might receive! We did just that, Brad and I ask in the b2evo forum if there was a plug in somewhat like comment luv or link luv. Well, there wasn’t but, there is now!

Thanks to the great minds of the plug ins, widgets, program, scripter….people that love and support b2 we now have Post Snap!

This little baby was delivered by the great EdB. He also gives credit to ¥åßßå and SimplePie for the pieces and parts of their programs that he needed to make this all new super great plug in work.

A little about the fancy shmancy Post Snap Plug in.

It is super easy to install.
Go to EdB’s Wonderwinds Hack Blog (Here is the Comment Luv Plug in (only way better) for b2evolution Post Snap)

Down load, unzip, read the “Read Me” and just do it!

Once you have it installed you have a few options that you can set such as Simple or Multi links in the Snap post section of the comment.

Simple is going to give 1 link in the Post Snap box that is to the commenter’s latest post.

Muti is going to allow the commenter to –
Give 1 link to the commentors last post they made on the URL they listed
AND Give 1 link under their name.

post snap blog comment

With Snap Post the links can be set to DoFollow or NoFollow. In these pictures the pink links are set to nofollow.

EDIT!!I misunderstood how this part worked! I had written -
You also have the option of setting a post limit before the ‘link love’ is active. This means that a person will need to make set amount of comments before the plug in Snaps the last post from their site.

But EdB (The maker of the plug in)stopped in and explained it in the 2nd comment. Here is what he says -

"Oops. (a) that sounds cool but (b) it doesn't work that way. The link-backs to me and simplepie - under the buttons down there - are triggered by the 'link love' threshold. Meaning if you set it to '1' then a post with no comments doesn't have linkage to me and simplepie in it. Assuming you enable those link-backs of course ;) Looks to me like you've set it to '0' and enabled those link-backs? THANKS! but honestly you should set it to at least one."

I wanted to make sure that everyone gets the correct info and can see why he states what he did in the comment. That is what I get for trying to explain something that I have not properly tried out! :oops:

I have not tried yet but, I think you can change the text that is before and after the links. You can also change the date formatting but, I like it just the way it is!

Ok, all you b2evolution bloggers head on over to EdB’s and get your Post Snap plug in.

I will say again that this plug in is better than Link Luv or Comment Luv! Why?
Because it works on b2evo blogs!! LOL!

While your at Ed's blog look around! He has some other great plug ins you may want!

Thank you again to EdB & ¥åßßå for all you do to make the b2evolution blogs even better!

Someone pointed out to me how silly it looks to have a link-back to me and simplepie when there was nothing visible on the page that showed *why* there would be a link-back is the thing.

I should work on the way you describe it though. That'd be cool. Like, if the setting was '1' hit-and-run commenters wouldn't get Snapped until they came back and commented again. All I would have to do is keep track of URLs that have left a comment yah? So "if you didn't then it doesn't but if you did then it does" sort of thing.

Onna@ToddlercraftWow-that sounds cool. I have comment luv on my site-but the idea of setting number of comments is cool-does it work on wp?

Sheryl-I left an award on my blog for you :)

Sheryl@Sandra,
OOO, I know nothing about making Comment Luv work on Wordpress but, if you need help I know a few guys that might be able to give you the secrets as to why it doesn't work or how to fix it.

@EdB,
Thanks for helping me figure it out. Guess I had is wrong (not the 1st time I've been wrong).
So, far your SUPER plug in is working great! I love it!Seeing a post title for the commentors can help bring interest to their blogs. Thanks again!

@Salwa,
Many of the Wordpress people have the comment luv but, b2evolution blog script did not have the same type of plug in until EdB took on the task.

@Onna,
Oh great to mention an award and potty training. That worries me. LOL!
Sorry this plug in is for b2evo blog scripts. Not sure what it would do on a Wordpress. Comment luv or Link luv does allow you to set a comment limit. Since I do not use WordPress I am not sure which one it is.
