Get Your Skype On

Do you have Skype yet?

If not you are missing out on a great way to stay in touch with customers, team members, family, and friends for FREE! If you are worried because you are on dial up, then just go ahead and get it you can use the text messaging for fast contact. I am pretty sure most dial up will have problems with the voice calls but, don’t think you are completely left out.

EDIT - 5/31/09
This tutorial is for setting up Skype 3.8. It is in a large part the same as 4.0 but may have a few differences.
You can Download Skype version 4.0

If you want the 3.8, which in my opinion is still the best
you will click the link and scroll down the page to the next to last sentence near the bottom where it says Previous Version of Skype This should be the 3.8 (if they haven't changed it since I posted this).

Pick your well know username or your real name. Fill in all the general info, email, location, upload a pic, add your website URL…

Now, you are ready to let anyone that needs it have your username and they can send you an invite to be on their list as a contact.
When you open up your new skype and log in it will be easy to see who in your contact list is marked online. I suggest always send a text message before calling anyone. They may have forgotten to change their status or might even be on another call.

This is just a short intro to Skype, once you have your skype downloaded and installed you can read the 2nd and 3rd parts and have it completely set up and skyping with friends, family, and business right away!

I sold a couple of domains over a year ago, maybe two years I can't remember, to a guy in Bermuda I think. We used Skype to work out the details. All it took was a headset and the total cost was zero. I have no idea what it would have cost to use the phone but Skype certainly took some of the pressure off.

I haven't used Skype since then, my computer has some type of audio problem. No sound in the speakers or headset.

Poor Brian,
I could not live without my skype!
I use it to talk with my host, have meetings with people all over the world, even to send links and documents to Brad and Cait.
Come to think of it, I skype notes to them like my mom used to leave notes on the fridge or table. LOL!

You may have to check your sound card. If your sound card works for other programs it may be in your skype settings.

I have had skype connected before, and I was able to stay in contact with relatives and friends all the time. I love it
