I am looking to see how well the Google Docs Survey works on blogs. I know you can email them but, that is boring!
As you know I am always reading and trying new things so, I just had to test this.
I'll do an update as to if it does alert me of survey answers from the blog. I will say, it only took about 2 minutes to make. Another bonus would be that I would not have to use an outside site.
UPDATE - Ok, I checked in my Google Docs area and yes, it is giving me a spread sheet of answers all with a time stamp.
How to make your own survey using Google Docs -You can use these in email or embed them in your site.
Log in to your GMail,
Go to Documents,
Click New, Pick Form,
Now fill in your Title, Any description or instructions for your survey takers, Survey Question, Then you can choose the type of question (multiple choice, paraghaph, check box...)
If you do NOT want the Untitled Question - You place your curser over the area and click the Garbage Can. This will delete that part of the survey. The section that says Untitled Question - If a question is typed in by someone taking your survey, then it is also sent to my Google Docs spreadsheet.
Click Done.
You can add more than 1 question to your survey.
If you would like the Embeded Code -
In the top Right, click More Actions, click Embed, This will give you a simple IFrame Code.
You may need to adjust the Width and Hight of the iFrame.
To check your survey results - Log into your Google Docs and click the Title of your survey.
HINT!!!! If you Edit Your Survey in the Documents Area - It also Edits it on your site!!
I hope this helps, mind you this is my 1st try with using it. If you give it a try let us know how it works for you!
Thanks,
Sheryl Loch
