Shyftr for RSS Feeds

I found a new site that you can insert all your favorite RSS Feeds.

The sign up is free, and easy to do.

UPDATE - As of April 9,2009 Shyftr will not be allowing the registration of new accounts. They are now focusing on a new content filter. You can see more Shyftr Filter. Just as I was getting it figured out, they freakin go and change it! ARGH!

As a new post is made on any of the feeds that have been listed by any Shyftr member, they are shown on the front page and easy for anyone to see. If someone makes a comment on one of the Feeds at the Shyftr site it goes back into the front page rotation.

Filling out your profile is really pretty basic.
Name, picture, website url, and a bio.
You can see my profile at Sheryl Loch Shyftr

There are also several boxes you can list your interest in things like movies, music, books… Umm, I did not really have much to put there and have no real reason as to why anyone else would even care. That means I had to find something else interesting to place in the boxes.

EASY FIX!
If you have a box that you are not going to use then just delete the current name of the box and place in a title of something you do want.
If you then list plane text in the ADD box then it will be hooked into the site like a tag. Others that have the same thing listed will be grouped together.

I took one of the boxes and Renamed it Favorite Blogs
I tried placing plain urls to my fav blogs but, it did not work as a hot link.

I did find that if you use HTML ? Bingo you have a hot link.
On a blank document I typed out the complete set of HTML links that I wanted to place in the box and inserted it as 1 long string in the Add box. You will need to place breaks in between the links. If you try to place any text other than Anchor Text for the link it messes it up.

To add feeds from your favorite blogs is easy. Simply look on the Right hand side in your Admin area and click to add feeds.
The site is still new and they are doing lots of work on it. It has times when it is SLOW. Just add your feed url and if it is taking a few minutes then, just let it go, it will pick it up.

You can also find other great blogs and pick up there feeds, this is called Shyfting. As you will see on the home page ? the normal list of ‘Big Boy Blogs’ are listed in the top 20 according to the number of members who have picked up the feeds. Next to the blog title you will see how many members have Shyftred them.

This seems to be a very new site and not a whole lot of members yet.

I figure the only way to know if a site is worthwhile is to try it out.

So far on Shyftr I have just listed the feeds of members from The Internet Marketers Guild Blog Co-Op. As the Blog Co-op Community grows I may make it a profile of it's own so, I don't get overloaded. I mean that is one reason we have the Guild is to help each other get promoted.

I have a bit of information about why you will want to be part of the Blog Co-Op Community. Join now to be part of the spam free forum.

I only grabbed one of your feeds and forgot to get the others. Umm, I did that on purpose so, you could have the honor of adding some of your own. LOL!
When you get set up I will pop on your profile and pick up the others.

I think it takes a team working together if you want to compete with the big guys. As the team grows so, does the success of everyone involved.

Yes there are some real cool things that we share now and again.

Shyftr is one of those things that takes a little team work to get optimal results. I Shyftrd one of Cait's articles the other day and I believe she got 52 or 54 links to it, Right now the average is about 10 to 20 or so links in.

If you knew what goodies we have hooked up to the Blog Co-Op at The Internet Marketers Guild you would be totally impressed. But there is no need to tell all it took us well over a year to find hook up and test everything. We are searching everyday and adding viable things as we find and test them. The only way we are giving the real powerful stuff is by using the Blog Co-Op. The countless hours and effectiveness of our system we believe warrants us to be able to charge a fee to use it. Pretty small fee for what you get, I guess it comes down to how much people value inbound links. Is it important to have a bumpy dirt road leading to your kingdom, or a super highway.

Enjoy the Shyftr experience.
