My little forum Sig line and mini article post experiment.
If you are not posting on forums – you could be loosing a great chance to build page rank on your blog.
A couple of months ago I went through the forums I belong to and changed all my sig lines. I had all my sig lines pointing at my home domain sherylloch.com. When I changed them I then included a link to my Moxxor section of this blog.
Well shortly after that Google passed out page rank and sure enough I saw a difference. My page rank was split between my home domain and the Moxxor section. You can see a bit about this from a post I wrote earlier Google Gives Out Page Rank
What made me think it was the sig line?
I very seldom permalink to my Moxxor section so, the only big change in inbound links for it came from sig lines and mini articles posted on forums.
My home domain was running a PR of 2, with the new ranks that came out, the home domain dropped to a 1 and the Moxxor section raised up to a one. Now that I know the sig lines and mini post are building rank, I am going to use it to raise the rank of my entire blog.
I will tell you that the home domain has MANY more inbound links from blog comments and social sites than the Moxxor section. I also have MANY more inbound perma links to various articles in topics other than Moxxor section from blogs and social sites.
In all reality I assumed that everything would rise long before the Moxxor section. I was underestimating the power of forum sig lines and mini article post.
If you do not know how to build a sig line in PHP forums I have easy to follow instructions – Signature Line Marketing
I have also noticed how my mini articles posted in forums with perma links to individual articles is now beginning to build rank on individual articles. This is one reason I set up the Blog Co-Op the way it is. I have seen the results and so can you. But, I will make another post about that later. I am told my articles are to long so, I am breaking it up. LOL!
Beware of going out and joining every forum you see – you do not want to be in spam filled forums! That is why we have set up the Internet Marketers Guild as a membership site.
