Tracking Article Conversations Across the Web

Who else is talking about that article?

So, you just found a great article and you are wondering if anyone else has an opinion or even knows about it. You could try a search on Twitter or Friendfeed, maybe even Google it… all of that would be a royal pain in the ass (IMHO).

Well, I have found a much easier way!

You may know that I am a huge fan of the BackType site for keeping track of blog comments. They have now made tracking conversations for any website easy, not just the ones you have commented on yourself. See more about Tracking Blog Comments on Backtype

When I say easy – I mean super easy!

All I have to do to see what others have to say on about an article is click 1 text button in my toolbar. This will bring up a side bar with all the mentions of the article that are contained in Twitter, FriendFeed, Backtype, or other blog post! Not only can you see what others are saying but, you have the link right there if you want to visit the other conversations. All this with 1 click!

The only catch is you have to go to Convo Track and from there drag and drop the ConvoTrack link into your toolbar. I’m pretty sure you can handle that.

Think of how great this would be to track who is talking about your post, brand, competition… And you have the links to see what they are saying and from there join in!

Maybe you have come across a post that you are not sure you agree with, then just click the link in your toolbar and see if others have opinions.

Go ahead, give it a try.

Once you have the ConvoTrack link in your toolbar you can check out this post – to bad I may be the only one talking about my blog!

Hint- You could give it a Tweet or send out a link to this post so we can try it out! Then others will be able to see what you have to say about it!

I went and got one of these. I am going to use it on every site I ever go to. Just because I can. Why do you give people all the uber cool spy things? Okay, so it is not REALLY a spy tool... but still!

Lolz!

Pretty good Sheryl, what pisses me off is the fact that women such as yourself keep finding all the neat ways of doing things faster and better. Why is that? :D

@Cait, I think you will like that add on once you get used to it. It may help you find other blogs on your favorite topics to comment on.

@Sire, You find neat stuff. Look at your Pink theme, not every other guy has one of those. ;)
I think some of us gals just go out looking for the easy way to do things. That way we have more time to chat with all the great guys online. LOL!

Hey Sheryl,

Wow, great tool! I'm gonna check it out and then I think I'll "use" you next week when I do the link post assignment from the ProBlogger Challenge! :)

Have a Happy!

I hope I fit into the 'great' online guys you are referring to ;)
As to the pink, alas it's gone. Perhaps for a Mother's day theme. It's all possible with my new Wordpress Theme.
